Just For You

We are relational beings. This statement is no surprise to most of us, because we were created by a relational God. Our Heavenly Father created man to have dominion over all he had created as illustrated in the book of Genesis. We’re all familiar with the story. God created Adam, set him in the Garden and gave him a job.

While, Adam was busy with his tasks, the Father said, “it is not good for man to be alone; I will make him a helper who is just right for him” (Genesis 2:18). Then, after placing Adam into a deep sleep, Eve was created and later presented to the man who would be her husband.

By the same token, those eternal words of wisdom spoken from Gods heart regarding the human condition are still true today. Nevertheless, navigating the deep seas of dating can leave some singles feeling hopelessly shipwrecked. But, we have hope. God has not left us alone and bewildered. On the contrary, he’s placed us all in families, given us friends and has given all of us an assignment to complete.

Where is my Spouse tho???

I know the above statement may not be too comforting to those who are yearning to be married. But, trust me it is a consoling truth. As a matter of fact, not very long ago, I asked the same question. So, I’ll tell you the answer. Are you ready? Here it is……. Your future spouse is in the presence of God!

Sis, Say What?

That’s right, your mate is in the presence of God. He is being fashioned, formed and molded into the most suitable mate for you. And, Believe it or Not, that’s wonderful news.

Yet, you have need of patience. And the key to waiting with patience is to be about the Your Father’s business. Comparatively, just as Adam was busy doing the work God gave him, we should also be busy with the work he has set before us.

You were created by God, and we are his children. Jesus said, “If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him” (Matthew 7: 11).

The problem is…. Umm, well most of us don’t Really BELIEVE that. I mean, surely, we know what’s best for ourselves? Surely, God should give me what I want, when I want it.  Shouldn’t God just trust us? The short answer is…… NO!

God is sovereign! He is the All Knowing and Almighty! Daniel said it best, when he said in Daniel 4:20 “…Wisdom and Might Are His.”

Jesus is the Center of God’s Will….

Marriage is good. It was ordained by God, but marriages are not the central focal point of God’s will. I believe, that we, as the body of Christ would benefit by being reminded that God’s primary purpose, is to fulfill the promise he gave to his son, Jesus.  “The Lord said to my Lord: Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet” Matt 22:44.

Furthermore, even more than we ladies want to be a bride, and even more than men may desire to be a groom, our Eternal Father wants to prepare a bride for his Son. Afterall, he alone paid the ransom for the church with his own Beloved Son, Jesus.  The Church is not only the Bride of Christ, but they are the reward of HIS sacrifice.

that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish” Ephesians 4:27

Seek the Kingdom First

Matthew 6:33 Seek ye first the kingdom of heaven, and ALL these other things will be added to you.  It’s one of the most quoted scriptures in the church today, and for good reason. It’s a promise to the body, that GOD will meet all our needs. However, the needs of the Kingdom must be Priority One.

Rest assured, your God, Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ is just as concerned about your heart, and your love life as you are. And, you and I can trust him. Trust, that he will provide to you the most suitable partner as you are carrying out the work of the Kingdom. It’s so important for you to know that God will give you the desires of your heart AS you delight yourself in him (Psalm 37:4).

So, here are 3 Ways to Delight Yourself in God

1. Seek His Will for Your Life. Matt 6:33

God’s heart for you may be marriage. But marriage is only a small piece of a much larger puzzle. Singleness really is a gift, because it gives you the time and space to know God, and yourself better. Having your identity firmly planted in God’s will for your life, will fulfill your heart in ways you have yet to experience.

2. Pursue Spiritual Gifts. I Corinthians 14:1

Pursue love, yet earnestly desire spiritual gifts. God wants to use the gifts inside of you to connect with the world around you. In doing so, you will be able to acquire and develop the necessary talent and resources God has placed within you, so that you may accomplish his objectives in the Earth

3.Cultivate an Attitude of Gratitude. Romans 8:28

Resist the temptation to murmur or complain about your current single state. Instead, use this time to cultivate a heart of thanksgiving and praise to God. Remember all things work together for the good of those who love Jesus, and who are called according to his purpose.

We get so caught up in what WE want from God that we never take the moment to ask God what HE wants from us. Remember he knows where you are.

He is preparing a mate suitable Just for YOU!
